"I'm going to get a pull up!! - Leanna Hicks


So we did some pull ups today as part of Lynne (btw you can approach this workout a variety of ways - with rest between the exercises or none at all)

I saw big numbers!

W00t! That means that even if the load was light on the bench and the bands were a bit more than you should have been using for assistance -- you still went to failure and that's a max effort. Well done!

As you get more experience - we'll be looking for the rep counts to drop dramatically as you trade down your assitance bands and move up toward your 1/2 bw or full bw bench press. So you might go from a 150 to a count that looks like 7/14 6/13 6/13 5/12 4/11. A lower score, but the score alone does not tell the story. The loads and the score do.

Anyhoo - it bears repeating that if you can do 15 unbroken reps with a given band in a given situation -- time to trade down and make things harder for yourself. In order to get bodyweight pull ups you're going to pretty much have to.

And that Pullup Club board is still empty. Who's going to get that first pull up?
