So we have this concept of virtuosity. In the broader world it's technical skill or fluency or style. Here in CF land it's defined as doing the commonplace uncommonly well.
Hence us harping on basics constantly.
Take for, instance, the basic squat. From the intro session and beyond you're going to be doing squats (and when we say squats, we mean the unladen "air squat") here at CFD. How well you're knocking them out depends on a variety of factors - from weak adductors, hip flexibility issues, tight hamstrings and so forth. These are all addressable. The first way is to address it within the position itself and to fight for the correct position. Eventually, as time goes on and you do the exercise and fight for the position, the flexibility will come and you'll become "flexible" enough".
A more direct approach is to practice the position and fight for it. An even more direct approach is to incorporate stretching into your daily routine. Look for more and more of this "maintenance work" to be brought up in class and assigned as homework. While you're working on it -- there's nothing wrong with a box squat, getting your tush near a wall or any of the other mods we give you to help things out. They're just a helpful transition.
