Workout of the Day

Bar work / Technical Oly work and then:

Deadlift 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

That is all.

Plot out your target weight and make jumps accordingly.

Andy Bolton 1008 lbs x 1. That's a heavy single, folks!

Also went and tried for 455 but did not have the juice. Still, it's always great to get that heavy deadlift feeling!

Bummed to miss this, I've got an appt for a root canal (no joke, I'm really getting a root canal). I'd like to make this one up this week, though, I bet I can add 10-20 pounds on my DL for sure. :)

I PR'd as well with 245. On a similar note, I had no intention of going heavy for various reasons. I have to thank Bob for his encouragement. He and I were working together. For a guy with two artificial knees he is as strong as an ox in the deadlift. Every time we increased the weight he made the lift seem effortless! He would just walk up to the bar bend over and lift it; no real set up and no psyching. Even after Bob got his 315 pound lift, with the same effortless approach, he would just say "it is only weight". In order to prove to him it is more than just mere weight I attempted his 315, knowing it is well beyond my capabilities. I could not even budge the bar. I hope he realizes he is is stronger than he thinks. Way to go Bob!

Also, thanks to Alex for coaching me on my form, it always makes a difference.
