A quick note -- I've seen some gloves around the gym during Oly Lifting movements. Here's my two cents:
Gloves get in the way of the movement. The padding makes it harder to grip, giving you a weaker grip overall. When you sweat, your hand can move around, slide around inside the glove while the glove stays put. This is not a secure grip. Moreover, gloves are not not designed to move around knurling either and can get caught when you are trying to rack / receive the bar. This is no fun for your hands / wrists.
Chalk is good.
Letting your hands get conditoned over time is good.

- 20 foot handstand walk (use the 4 foot matts to judge distance, scale to 5 wall climbs or a 40 foot bear crawl)
Don't lift more than 3lbs.
