Workout of the Day

Someone was asking what some good goals should be. Well, aside from gymnastic movements like body-weight pull-ups, kipping pull ups and other sundry gymastic movements -- you need to be strong! Strong = Harder to Kill & More Useful in General.

So, take a look at the strength standards for the lifts listed on this page, see where you're at and what it would take to bump up a class and make it happen. Put it on the goal board. Erase an older achieved goal if you have to.

Holy crap - did you look at the Level 3 numbers? I need to lose a LOT of weight if I am going to try and deadlift twice my body weight!

I do take some issue with them saying that someone who isn't level 1 is "unnceasarily limited in their daily life." I can only meet some of those benchmarks, and I am not limited - I bike all around town, kayak, move furniture (except filing cabinets), just fine. I guess I just bristled a little at that language.

It's in the downloads section too.

Would you folks rather have a soft copy or have some printouts of stuff like this available at the box?

What about a poster we can look at like the snatch poster, etc? saw the poster PDF but didn't open it. But that would save on paper.

Update: I think the poster on the Seattle site is cool: http://www.crossfitseattle.com/Skill%20Levels%20poster.pdf

You are funny. It took me several minutes to figure out what you are talking about. But yes, those are definitely the best icons.

Thanks, Max. Seems like a neat tool - especially for those of us who benefit from or like some structure In our "bookkeeping."

I also found a cool and free iPhone app just called WOD. You can record your workouts, and it already has the girls, the main CF workouts, and other named workouts. Plus there are some definitions. Just search crossfit in the iPhone app store. I haven't checked the Android store.
